Students from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health visited our Center
On January 7, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting fifteen students from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Their visit included Executive Director Yasumura's presentation on the “Fukushima Health Management Survey,” the telephone support system and response content for the “Pregnancy and Birth Survey,” the “Mental Health and Lifestyle Survey,” and the implementation methodology for the “Thyroid Ultrasound Examination.”
During the question-and-answer session that followed Executive Director Yasumura's presentation, there was an exchange of opinions from an epidemiological perspective on radiation risk communication and radiation-related education conducted in Fukushima Prefecture after the disaster. Harvard students expressed their gratitude for this valuable opportunity to learn about specific issues, such as the impact of the disaster on society, mental health after the disaster, and the issue of disaster-related deaths. We hope that today's interaction will lead to maintaining and promoting the health of the people of Fukushima Prefecture and people around the world in the future.
